5 tweets about HBO’s ‘The Newsroom’ from people who work in newsrooms

By Michael Sebastian | Posted: June 25, 2012
“The Newsroom,” Aaron’s Sorkin’s highly anticipated new show about journalism, premiered on HBO on Sunday night to mixed reviews. Interestingly, many of the nastier reviews came from members of the media (though not Dan Rather, who wrote a review for Gawker, saying he liked the show).

People who work or worked in newsrooms—whether the traditional kind (as in the HBO show) or the new media kind—took to Twitter Sunday evening and Monday morning to share their opinions. We rounded up five of those tweets:

Lauren Seabrook, reporter/anchor for Kansas City First News

Jason Linkins, editor of Huffington Post’s Eat the Press

Jessica Grose, author, former senior editor at Slate

Rachel Sklar, CNN contributor, media blogger

Chris Krewson, editor, Variety.com

Did you see the new show? What did you think?
