Patriots owner ‘offended by comments’ in ‘deflategate’ report

Owner Robert Kraft also stated that to say he was disappointed in the findings of the Wells Report ‘would be an understatement.’

“Deflategate” has been this year’s sports story that just won’t go away.

Yesterday saw the release of the Wells Report, which fan of the New England Patriots may forever hence use a synonym for the “mountains out of mole hills” cliché. (“I was two minutes late … don’t make this into a Wells Report!”)

The report found that a pair of team employees “participated in a deliberate effort to release air from Patriots game balls after the balls were examined by the referee.” The report also states that quarterback Tom Brady “was at least generally aware” of efforts to release air from the footballs.

There were also a series of damning texts, which you can read in the full report here or on Business Insider, that show the employees essentially conspiring to deflate the footballs.
