Sharing information on social media is akin to having sex

The two (vastly different) actions stimulate the same part of your brain, according to researchers at Harvard.

That may sound like an odd assertion (unless you’re tweeting naughty pics), but a new study from researchers at Harvard found that sharing information on social media activates the same pleasure centers in the brain that are stimulated when we eat, get money, and have sex.

“It’s all a matter of degrees of course (talking about yourself isn’t quite as pleasurable as sex for most of us),” writes The Los Angeles Times, “but the science makes it clear that our brain considers self-disclosure to be a rewarding experience.”
