Chick-Fil-A is in the midst of a boiling public relations crisis
surrounding its stance against gay marriage. Now it stands accused of some shady social media practices on its Facebook page
Several websites pointed out that Chick-Fil-A seemed to be posing as teenage girl Abby Farle
, a redheaded defender of all things Chick-Fil-A. But It turns out that the photo of “Abby” was lifted from a stock photo site
Another account, Cordell Bunton, seems to have been created for the sole purpose of coming to the fast food purveyor’s defense. BuzzFeed
says the account has been deleted.
But Chick-Fil-A isn’t owning up to it.
Chick-Fil-A spokeswoman Tiffany Greenway emailed PR Daily
, saying: “I can confirm that Chick-Fil-A has not created a false Facebook account or persona of any kind. Our official corporate Facebook page continues to be our only one.”
