CBS seethes at ABC via sarcastic press release

A Wednesday release from CBS takes aim at the rival networks’ ‘Glass Houses,’ a show similar to ‘Big Brother.’

The network issued a bitter, sarcastic press release on Wednesday announcing its not-really new show, “Dancing on the Stars,” a televised dancing competition in which “moderately famous and sort of well-known people” dance on the graves of deceased icons such as George Harrison and Cecil B. DeMille.

“Given the current creative and legal environment in the reality programming business, we’re sure nobody will have any problem with this title or our upcoming half-hour comedy for primetime, POSTMODERN FAMILY,” a CBS spokesperson is quoted as saying.

The snarky release is a reaction to ABC’s new show, “Glass House.” CBS sued its rival network over similarities between that show and its own “Big Brother,” but a federal judge said last week he’ll let the show go on.
