Ryan Gosling fans would certainly approve of the 200 Easter eggs stashed around New York City “from” the celebrity, each one encouraging its discoverer to tweet his or her finding to the Twitter handle @GoslingEaster.

Pinterest didn’t oversee any Easter egg hunts (that I’m aware of), but startups and other budding social networks could still uncover a few hidden treasures in the virtual pinboard’s unlikely rise to the top, such as learning when to pivot away from its initial vision.
