A recent survey of 72 journalists in the U.K. found that the press release is the most preferred method for receiving news about a company.
Company websites was No. 2. Social channels—such as the company blog, Wikipedia, Twitter feed, etc.—also populated the list.

The study by PR agency Text 100 U.K.
, which was conducted in March, included journalists from the business, consumer, technology and business-to-business media organizations.
“While traditional communications channels such as press releases remain important brands are missing out by not embracing a balanced approach across all social channels,” Dan Baxter, Text 100 U.K managing director, said in a press release
