Forty-seven of the 50 states were expected to top 90 degrees on Thursday, according to U.S. News, and PR pros and online marketers are taking advantage.

Injecting your brand into timely and trending news—otherwise known as “newsjacking”—is a simple way to get your content noticed. Just make sure you do it in a way that’s authentic and, especially, inoffensive.

From offering free indoor workouts to giving away ice cream, there’s no shortage of ways companies can drive brand awareness by jumping on the #heatwave bandwagon.
