Though people were once ridiculed for being bookworms, reading for pleasure is one again being embraced by the masses with the rise of teen fiction and a popular trilogy involving one Mr. Christian Grey.

One could argue the books’ popularity is increased by onscreen adaptations—”The Maze Runner” made $32.5 million opening weekend and people are all but salivating over the “Fifty Shades of Grey” premiere in February—as many have flocked to buy and read the original print versions.

In fact, the more than 6.5 million copies of “The Maze Runner” has spawned a prequel to the series, and E.L. James became the richest author in the world in 2012 when “Fifty Shades of Grey” sold more than 70 million copies, even more than “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
