Baseball players get called to the major league, outstanding football teams make it to the playoffs and the diamond, basketball court and football field play host to a number of stories. Team members step up as champions to build heroic tales.

Similar stories are crafted within the walls of PR agencies. Strategy and skill are required in both arenas, but that’s not all the two fields have in common.

Here are five examples of how PR pros and athletes play strategically to win:

1. They are continually motivated and endlessly strive to their goals.

Athletes put in countless hours to perfect their form. Among the pros, natural talent is eclipsed by drive and determination put into practice, and MVPs don’t settle for a 65 percent free-throw average.

Similar drive and grit can be found at the desks of any PR agency. Proficiency in pitching is an art that requires continued patience and practice. There is no standard, one-size-fits-all pitch, just like there is no one-size-fits-all game day strategy.

For true success, constant practice is required to land with the greats in any hall of fame.
