AFL-CIO’s ‘Buy American’ PR gaffe

Union officials at the AFL-CIO distributed plastic hard hats to lawmakers on Capitol Hill Tuesday to remind lawmakers about “the working men and women of America.” The hard hats were made in China. AFL-CIO officials said buying the Chinese-made hard hats was a mistake by a new staffer; however, at least one union member believes the move reveals a deeper problem.
