AP releases election style guide
Sending out an Election Day press release? The Associated Press has offered up some alternatives to the standard political clichés.

The Associated Press has issued its list of election-season style reminders, and for AP style nerds like me and PR pros sending out last-minute, election-related press releases, it’s a good read.
Some interesting entries to note:
My favorite entries are the clichés and alternatives. A few favorites:
war lingo Use criticized instead of attacked, or choose a better verb to describe what the candidate is doing, i.e., challenging, doubting, etc. Also avoidable: launch an assault, take aim, open fire, bombard.
