Bah, humbug! Fox Chicago anchor insists Santa isn’t real

The bizarre outburst caused a PR debacle for Chicago’s Fox affiliate as angry parents flooded the station’s Facebook page with angry comments.

During the 9 p.m. news cast on the Fox Chicago affiliate, Robin Robinson, a longtime anchor at the station, let loose on parents who tell their kids that Santa is real.

“Stop trying to convince your kids that Santa is Santa,” Robinson said, adding later, “There is no Santa.”

In case the kids watching TV didn’t hear it the first time, she again stressed: “There. Is. No. Santa.”

As you imagine, the Fox Chicago Facebook page flooded with comments from angry parents. During the Wednesday evening newscast, Robinson apologized and read from the comments.

The segment in which Robinson’s anti-Santa tirade took place is called “The Talker,” a segment meant to—you guessed it—get people talking.
