BBQ chain turns employees into social media marketers

“While many marketers are starting to understand that their employees can be their greatest asset, one small barbecue chain has taken it to an entirely new level,” Emily Bryson York reported for Advertising Age . “Smokey Bones, a 68-unit franchise concentrated in Florida and on the Eastern seaboard, has given some of its employees second jobs—as its social marketers.” Too bad the Smokey Bones Web site takes forever —OK, like a minute-and-a-half—to load.
