Canadian government unveils social media guidelines

The newly released documents cover how departments should use tools like Facebook and Twitter, and communicate in two languages, French and English.

The Globe and Mail reports that the recently released document outlines “how departments should use sites like Twitter and Facebook as well as technologies that allow users to create content online like Google Docs.”

For example, the guidelines cover how federal departments might pick an appropriate Twitter handle.
