Company replaces press release blasts with e-mail newsletter

OtterBox, a Fort Collins, Colo.-based manufacturer of laptop, PDA and smartphone cases, places more value in public relations than advertising, explained Karen J. Bannan in B2B Magazine . And so, instead of blasting reporters with press release after press release, it built an e-newsletter—a digest of information for reporters—that it sends to reporters and editors, bloggers and Web site editors.
