Conficker virus proves windfall for anti-virus software makers limping through recession

The dreaded Conficker virus failed to lay waste to the Internet Wednesday, but it did generate attention and dollars for anti-virus software makers, who warned consumers about the virus. The industry has faced pressure because the recession is causing people to hold off on buying new virus protection for their computers. Security experts are claiming we haven’t heard the last of Conficker.
