Dissecting Time’s ‘Most Influential People’ list
Recognize all these movers and shakers? Really? Then you need to get out more.
The magazine released its top 100 list this week, and it includes such luminaries as Justin Bieber, Michelle and Barack Obama, and Blake Lively.
If I may break down the list:
Half are people like the Obamas, Oprah Winfrey, Prince William, and Mark Wahlberg—that is, luminaries and celebrities nearly everyone has heard of.
About a quarter of the people, such as world-renowned chef Grant Achatz and Google founder Larry Page, you know if you read magazines or newspapers with any regularity. However, they’re not exactly household names.
