Do you read the Economist? Or just tell people you do?

People in the know read the Economist magazine, right? Or at least they claim to, said Matt Pressman, a writer for Vanity Fair . “The Economist is like that exotic coffee … and Time and Newsweek are like Starbucks—millions of people enjoy them, but it’s not a point of pride,” Pressman told Silicon Alley Insider blog. Newsweek CEO Tom Anscheim liked that explanation. “There’s a certain snob appeal to the Economist ,” he said. “Not everyone who gets it reads it.”
