Facebook files for its IPO: Here are the details

We’ve been speculating forever, and now, finally, we know. Here are the details from Facebook’s S-1:

Revenue: Facebook picked up $3.71 billion in revenue last year, up from $1.97 billion in 2010 and $777 million in 2009. Fueling the 88 percent year-over-year growth rate from 2010 to 2011 was a 69 percent increase in advertising revenue. The number of ads delivered surged 42 percent, with the price of ads delivered up 18 percent.

Advertising revenue was $3.15 billion, up from $1.87 billion in 2010 and $764 million in 2009. Fifty-six percent of Facebook’s advertising revenue comes from the U.S. Twelve percent of all its revenue comes from Zynga (up from less than 10 percent in 2009 and 2010).
