FDA warns pharmaceutical companies about their search engine marketing

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration sent warning letters to pharmaceutical companies Biogen Idec and Sanofi-Aventis about their sponsored links on Internet search engines. The links, which advertised both companies’ most popular drugs, did not include the required safey information for the medications. Both companies had until today to respond to the letters. Other pharmaceutical companies have received similar warnings from the FDA about their search engine marketing.
