Forever 21 campaign turns Instagram photos into tapestries
The innovative effort involves 6,400 spools of thread and 6.7 miles of fabric.
It’s called the F21 ThreadScreen, and though the concept is simple—project users’ Instagram photos using a thread-based mosaic—its execution is incredibly intricate. The 11-foot-tall, nine-foot-wide machine was built using 200,000 parts and 6.7 miles of fabric.
The machine will show Instagram photos with the hashtag #F21ThreadScreen through July 28, and cameras will live stream the whole thing here:
