General, will you friend me? US Military using Facebook, Twitter to spread message

Guess who else is using social networks? That’s right; the U.S. military—gives a whole new meaning to the acronym SNAFU. (Don’t know, look it up.) Army brass are using Facebook, Twitter and other sites to reach future recruits and communicate the military’s message. The Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard are also tapping social networks. The Navy “experiments” with online tools, and various officers have Twitter feeds, the Associated Press reported.
