A house in Paterson, N.J., seemed intended for Felecia Allen, whose inspirational story was exactly the type Habitat likes to tout. Allen was present at an Oct. 3 press conference, where she stood outside the house that ostensibly was going to be hers and answered reporters’ questions.

The only problem was that the house in question was never meant to be Allen’s. And here’s where the public relations angle comes in.
