How many signatures does it take to kill an iPhone app?

After several days of online petition signing and outcries, Apple removed the ‘gay cure’ app from the iTunes store. Signature count on the petition: 151,721.

The app, from the nonprofit group Exodus International, offered information for people who were “homosexual strugglers.” The organization asserted that people could choose whether to be gay.

An Apple spokesperson told ABC News:

“We removed the app from the App Store because it violates our developer guidelines by being offensive to large groups of people.”
