How the Web would have made 5 bad things even worse

We go back in time to see how social media and other online elements would have addressed some historical events and trends.

Watergate. Woodward and Bernstein’s in-depth reporting wouldn’t have gotten “buried” on the front page of The Washington Post. It would have been all over Slate, Huffington Post, and Talking Points Memo. Need we even mention Crooks & Liars? Oh, and the Oval Office tapes would have been available on iTunes.

Henry VIII’s marital woes. You thought Tiger Woods and Arnold Schwarzenegger caught the spotlight’s glare? After wife No. 5 and another beheading, ol’ Hank would have been trending on Twitter like Bieber on steroids—wow, there’s an uncomfortable thought—and he’d have lost endorsements galore, even Ye Olde Big ‘n’ Tall Guys Shoppe.
