Consumers loved it when the deals company hilariously responded to everyone that commented on a Facebook post about the suggestively designed banana bunker.
Now Ikea is getting in on the action.
The Singaporean arm of the Swedish furniture megastore offered some design assistance from its “Shelf Help Guru” in a Facebook post. Scroll through the comments to see Ikea Singapore’s responses—published in meme form:
Each response pun-riddled response was paired with a link to an IKEA product online, and the company’s social media team rolled out the campaign along with a link to a “shelf improvement” video and a contest: The top 20 entries each won a $50 IKEA gift certificate.
We only need one more brand to cleverly respond to every commenter on Facebook to officially label this a trend. I’m guessing it won’t take much time.
