In advance of IPO, Zynga seeks investor relations professional

The social gaming company behind Farmville and other Facebook favorites launched a roadshow ahead of its initial public offering. Can it avoid the mistakes of Groupon?

The folks at Zynga, it seems, have learned the lesson.

Zynga is the social gaming company behind FarmVille, CityVille, Words with Friends, and others. In the first nine months of 2011, it had revenue of $828.9 million, more than double its revenue from the previous year. The company expects to begin trading on the Nasdaq index on Dec. 16.

According to Inside Investor Relations, the social gaming company is looking for an investor relations director, a search that coincides with the start of its IPO roadshow. To get the gig, the right candidate will need a decade of experience “either in investor relations or another capital markets role.”
