Instagram beats Twitter for mobile engagement
Twitter has more users, but in August people spent more time accessing Instagram than they did reading and sending tweets, according to comScore.
In fact, the photo editing/sharing mobile app tops Twitter in mobile engagement, according to a comScore report. Instagram sees an average of 7.3 million daily active users compared with Twitter’s 6.9 million.
The report also found that the average Instagram user spent a whopping 257 minutes accessing the site in August, compared with 170 minutes for Twitter.
In short, Twitter has more users, but Instagrammers access the app more often and spend more time on it per visit.
