Iranian press advisor has ‘never even heard of Facebook’

Over the weekend, Iran shuttered the nation’s access to Facebook in what opponents of the government have said is an act of sabotage to thwart the rising tide of criticism online toward President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. While Facebook is immensely popular in Iran, Ahmadinejad’s press adviser Ali Akbar Javanfekr is apparently not a member. “I don’t have a Facebook page,” Javanfekr told the Washington Post . “I’ve never even heard of Facebook. Please ask someone else.”
