Jack Daniel’s sends possibly the ‘most polite’ cease-and-desist ever

Various explanations exist that suggest alternative origins for the common idiom “mind your Ps and Qs,” one being that 17th century bartenders used the expression when telling rowdy patrons to watch their manners, or “mind their pints and quarts.” Jack Daniel’s must believe in keeping politeness alive in the alcohol industry, particularly given the civility of this recent cease-and-desist order it sent author Patrick Wensink, whose commissioned book cover clearly infringes upon the brand’s trademark label.

Speaking of alcohol, Advertising Age reports that Heineken USA has hired public relations firm Edelman to handle the company’s corporate PR, as well as that of its Dos Equis brand.
