Journalist slaps PR pro during Fashion Week

And now the PR pro is suing the journalist—who is editor of a French fashion magazine—for $1 million.

If you’ve ever worked as a reporter, chances are you’ve wanted to slap a PR person.

If you’ve ever worked as a PR person, chances are you’ve wanted to slap a journalist.

Seldom do we follow through with these urges. But we are not Jennifer Eymere, editor of the most French-sounding fashion magazine of all time, Jalouse.

Eymere admitted to slapping Lynn Tesoro, the PR person in charge at a Zac Posen show during Fashion Week. According to reports, New York fire officials pulled 60 seats from the venue 30 minutes before the Zac Posen was scheduled to start. Tesoro, who works for the fashion line’s PR firm HL Group, was trying to find Eymere and her group (which included the French editor’s mom, Marie-José Susskind-Jalou, president of Jalou publishing house) seats when the incident occurred.

Afterwards, Eymere gave an amazingly epic on-the-record quote to a journalist that recaps what happened pretty well:

“I said, ‘Don’t speak to my mom like this. You have to stop to speak like that.’ I said, ‘Be careful, I am going to slap you,’ and she kept doing it, and it just happened.

“‘I am sorry, I know it’s bad to do that,’ she added. ‘It was a small slap. It was not strong. I didn’t hurt her, it was just to humiliate her. She humiliated my mom, and I humiliated her in front of her crew. Voilà. I just said at the end, ‘Now you know you don’t f–k with French people.'”

Tesoro is apparently trying to prove that you don’t f–k with Americans by doing the most American thing possible: suing for $1 million.
