Layoffs, pay cuts hit New York Times

The New York Times announced Thursday that it has laid off 100 employees on the business side and cut salaries by five percent for all non-union employees, including top leadership, through 2009. The good news is employees will receive 10 additional days off; of course they’ll have less money to enjoy them. Meanwhile, the Washington Post is threatening layoffs.
