Limited-edition Heinz Ketchup launches on Facebook in Europe

Heinz rolled out the tomato ketchup with balsamic vinegar concoction by sharing 57 samples to food bloggers (and others). Get it, 57—like Heinz 57? Ah, those clever ketchup makers.

Too bad I can’t get my hands on it.

H. J. Heinz launched a limited edition Heinz Tomato Ketchup with Balsamic Vinegar in the U.K., and the first 3,000 bottles go to the company’s fans on Facebook who “like” it.

In a statement, Heinz marketing manager Ian McCarthy said:

“Heinz is very much aware of the evolving channels consumers use to buy and engage with brands. Social media is increasingly at the forefront of this consumer-consumption evolution, which is why we decided to use our U.K. Facebook page to launch the product.”
