High-profile brands come together in ‘streetwear’ project

The Internet is buzzing from a co-branded concept from two well-known companies. Here’s the gist of the marketing strategy behind it.

Collaborations are popping up in a variety of brands’ marketing campaigns.

One of the latest involves two big names—Starbucks and Nike—and brings to life the idea of a “coffee run.”

The product isn’t a fitness beverage or a Starbucks logo slapped onto a sweatband or pair of socks. Instead, Nike has released sneakers and are calling the kicks “Starbucks inspired.”

Daily Mail reports that although neither organization has confirmed “an official collaboration,” one version of the shoes features Starbucks’ signature green and white color scheme.

Official or not, the shoes have been dubbed “Starbucks Edition Nike’s SB Dunk Low Premium” by various retailers and media outlets, and include the coffee chain’s name in many product descriptions.
