Mercedes’ ‘service song’ earns ridicule
The poppy track, sung from the point of view of a car, doesn’t match up with the brand’s reputation for luxury.
Mercedes-Benz hasn’t gone and parodied anything, but it recently posted videos of its official “service song” to YouTube, and as The Denver Egotist suggests , the song may instantaneously change your perception of the brand, for the worse.
The song by Patricia Meeden, a poppy number with driving guitars and a sort of karaoke feel, is sung from the perspective of a car, to Mercedes service workers. It includes somewhat suggestive lyrics such as, “I like power and heat/like trav’ling off the beaten track/like them to know my needs/don’t like when they hold me back.”
