Mismanaged communications causes tiff between Ripa, Strahan
Faulty communication of Michael Strahan’s program shift nearly cost ABC his former costar. Here’s how network executives mishandled the announcement.
Apologies were in order after ABC’s blundered communications led to a spat between former co-stars, Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.
ABC executives apologized to the duo for how the network mishandled news of Strahan leaving “Live with Kelly and Michael” for “Good Morning America.”
CNN reports that the apologies came from ABC and its parent company, Disney’s “top executives.” They were also extended to Strahan and both of the celebrities’ agents.
Ripa took time away from the show after being blindsided by news of Strahan’s move only a half hour before it was leaked to the press.
