(Much to my shock) virtual worlds are getting a second life
Never been a fan of virtual worlds or thought companies could use them, despite several famous examples. Many very bright people disagree with me—and now a report bolsters their argument. “The consultancy kzero.co.uk reports that membership of virtual worlds grew by 39 percent in the second quarter of 2009 to an estimated 579 million,” Victor Keegan wrote for the Guardian . And, unlike Twitter or Facebook, many virtual worlds are actually making money. Incredible.
