NBC Sports drops gun show sponsorship

The only explanation for the decision to end its longstanding relationship to Shooting and Hunting Outdoor Trade is ‘it does not make business sense’

NBC sports has decided not to sponsor the Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade, or SHOT, which the organization has sponsored for “several years,” according to Media Matters.

The show, the largest gun show in the United States, has a history of opposing more stringent gun laws.

An NBC spokesperson stopped short of giving a specific reason in a statement to Media Matters, “Our level of sponsorship has varied each year, and this January we will not be sponsoring the show because it does not make business sense for us at this time.”
