New Facebook feature aims to give publishers a voice

Beginning with a select few potential broadcasters, the social media company will test its sound waves. Here’s what users—and marketers—can expect to hear from Facebook Audio.

Facebook is introducing live audio, which gives a few select publishers the chance to communicate “on air” for listeners in real time.

Live audio will bring audio-first programming—think podcasts and talk radio—directly to users’ News Feeds.

Facebook announced the first publishers that will have access to the tool, and the list is a mix of traditional media, book publishers and writers themselves. It includes BBC World Service , LBC,Harper Collins, and authors Adam Grant and Brit Bennett.
