NHL to players: No tweets before or during games

The National Hockey League unveiled its social media policy, which includes no tweeting (or updating Facebook, Myspace, or Foursquare) beginning two hours before a game until postgame media duties are complete.

According to The Los Angeles Times, “The NHL has implemented a new social media policy, imposing a blackout window on game days and for other team-related situations covering players and team personnel.” That means no tweets (or updates on Facebook, Myspace, or Foursquare) beginning two hours before a game until postgame media duties are complete.

Those who violate the policy are subject to a fine.
