Officials in England takes heat for ‘don’t eat horses’ PR campaign
The Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs paid £45,000 (about $70,000) to an outside PR firm to tell gypsies not to eat their horses, despite a lack of evidence that they do.

The new European Union rule requires horse owners to sign a pledge promising they won’t eat their horses.
But what has taxpayers in Whitehall angry is that the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs spent money on an outside agency.
