Ouch! Reporter eviscerates Rahm Emanuel’s 25-year-old press secretary

Veteran Chicago journalist Chuck Goudie mocked the mayor’s young PR rep for her Facebook pictures, inspiring an unlikely blogger to come to her defense.

In a recent newspaper column, Goudie questioned the credentials of Cooper, drawing attention to her Facebook profile that displays “hundreds of personal photos … showing her partying with friends, in beach attire, and at a slot machine.”

It appears Cooper has removed her Facebook profile and LinkedIn page. She has a Twitter account but has not yet tweeted.

The criticism comes after Cooper allegedly stonewalled Goudie’s inquires about Emanuel’s pick for Chicago schools chief and, later, his pointed questions about her experience to be the press secretary for the mayor of the third-largest city in America.

Goudie is the chief investigative reporter at the ABC affiliate in Chicago.

“Once Rahm Emanuel takes the oath and becomes Chicago’ s mayor today, you will be hearing and seeing a lot more of a young woman named Tarrah Cooper,” he wrote Monday in his weekly column for the Daily Herald, a suburban Chicago newspaper. “She is beginning the job of a lifetime, even though she doesn’t have much life time behind her.”
