PR crisis averted? Lawsuit targeting Taco Bell’s beef withdrawn

The Alabama law firm that alleged the fast food chain’s meat wasn’t, well, really meat has voluntarily pulled the suit. But is the damage to Taco Bell’s brand irreversible?

The law firm has withdrawn the suit.

“This sets the record straight about the high quality of our seasoned beef and the integrity of our advertising,” Taco Bell Chief Executive Greg Creed told The Los Angeles Times. “We took great exception to the false claims made about our seasoned beef and wish the attorneys had contacted us before filing and publicizing a lawsuit that disparaged our brand.”

In response to the lawsuit, Taco Bell unleashed a PR blitz to counter the claims.
