Protester interrupts VW exec at auto show

The antics didn’t do much to help the brand’s image, which its PR team has struggled to repair since the emissions scandal made headlines.

Take a look at what a protester did during a Geneva Motor Show press conference while VW exec Juergen Stackmann was presenting the new brand’s new “Up!” compact car:

Comedian and activist Simon Brodkin interrupted the press conference to place a fake “cheat box” beneath the car. He’s the same guy who threw a wad of cash at former FIFA president Sepp Blatter in July.

Though the Brodkin didn’t help the company’s PR problems, its chief executive, Matthias Mueller, spoke at the car show, and said he and the company were trying to “learn from past mistakes.”
