Should PR pros get a masters degree?

So, you’re thinking about going back to school. A post-graduate degree will give you valuable knowledge—and might bury you in debt. What’s a communicator to do?

Last week, PR Daily contributor Jackson Wightman shared five reasons why PR professionals should earn a masters in business. Wightman speaks from experience; he has an MBA.

In that post, he also offered some anti-MBA sentiment. “People say you don’t need one to start/fix/manage a wildly successful biz,” Wightman wrote. “They’re right. People also contend that MBA’s think in a box and lack creativity. They’re right, too. Sometimes.”

To bolster the argument against getting an MBA, Wightman posted a follow-up with five reasons PR pros shouldn’t go back to school. Thanks for the mixed messages, Jackson.
