NCAA bracket hits Internet during Selection Sunday broadcast

After the 2016 men’s basketball picks surfaced online, sports fans poked fun at CBS during its prime-time special. The organization says it’s ‘looking into’ the matter.

For college sports fans, there are few days that hold as much anticipation as Selection Sunday—when the NCAA announces which 68 teams will compete in its men’s basketball tournament.. RELATED: Free download: 11 Essentials for a Stellar Online Newsroom.

While fans criticized CBS for turning what is normally a 30-minute show into a two-hour torture fest, Twitter user @RICHIE posted a photo of the full bracket. As picks matched his bracket, users began to take note:

Debates over some of the controversial picks were occurring online even before CBS had made official announcements. Eventually, teams accepted the leaked bracket as fact:

Teams yet to be announced seem to be accepting the bracket leak as legit, per a few texts. Already studying their leaked opponents.
