Study: Corporate marketers’ average salary is $104,304

That figure represents a 29 percent increase from the average pay in 2009, according to a new study. Are you making that much?

Many commenters were surprised—some shocked—at that number.

“The average salary of a PR officer is $90,160?!?” A commenter exclaimed. “If that’s the case then I’ve practically been giving away my public relations work.”

Well, here’s another one for you: The average annual salary of a corporate marketing pro is $104,304, a 29 percent increase from 2009, when the average pay clocked in at $80,826.

That’s according to a study of 3,000 marketers and advertising pros by creative talent recruiting firm 24 Seven.

The study reveals that salaries increased 31 percent from 2009 to 2011 across the marketing and advertising industries. Part of this is due to a jump in bonuses and commissions, according to the study.
