Study reveals the median starting salary for a PR pro
Congratulations, young public relations reps (with jobs), you earn more than a reporter who’s fresh out of college.

In 2010, the median salary was $32,000, up $1,000 from the previous year, according to the Annual Survey of Journalism and Mass Communications Graduates conducted by the University of Georgia.
Among journalism and communication jobs, PR pay is the third-highest, the survey found. The median salaries for cable TV and Internet jobs were both $35,000 annually, followed by PR’s $32,000, and advertising, whose new grads had median salaries of $31,500.
