If your boss still won’t buy into social media, you might want to tell him (or her—but female executives couldn’t be that stubborn) that he’s getting left behind.
A survey this week by Worldcom Public Relations Group found that 83 percent of business-to-business companies are communicating with social media, and 54 percent plan to increase their social media budgets in 2011.
The most popular social media channels among respondents (who were told to check all that apply) are:
• Twitter (85 percent)
• Facebook (74 percent)
• LinkedIn (72 percent)
• YouTube (69 percent)
• Corporate blogs (60 percent)
The findings are part of the Worldcom Social Media B2B Study, which surveyed more than 100 business-to-business leaders. The survey was conducted by the market research firm Persuadable Research in April 2011.
